Reading Roadrunners

Reading Roadrunners is one of the largest clubs in the South of England and is open to members of all abilities. We participate in a range of individual and team events, on and off the road.

Our members benefit from a large range of UKA coaches, always on hand to advise and guide individual members to reach their goals and true potential. They take group sessions on club nights offering good structured training for beginners up to the more seasoned runner.

We meet at Palmer Park Stadium on a Wednesday evening, 6.30pm until 8pm; this is our main session and the one potential new members are advised to attend. We also meet at 6.30pm on a Thursday evening for a 5-6 mile outrun and Friday at 6.30pm for an hour on the track.

Sandhurst Joggers

Sandhurst Joggers is based in Sandhurst (SE Berkshire) and runs mostly in the Sandhurst/Camberley/Yateley area where Berkshire, Surrey & Hampshire meet – an area blessed with many miles of superb off-road heath and woodland running.

There are club runs every weekday evening and on Sunday mornings. Most runs are off-road when weather and daylight permit. Friday's run is structured track training; the Tuesday group particularly welcomes inexperienced runners.

We have about 400 members, split about 55/45 (men/women) and ranging in age from 17 to well over 70. At the top we have several county-standard runners of both genders, while further down the 'Joggers' in the name is much more relevant. We welcome newcomers to running/jogging. We don't just run, but have cycling, swimming, triathlon and caving enthusiasts, each of whom arrange occasional special-interest events.

Many members enter events, on and off-road, ranging from the 5K Parkrun to ultra-marathons. And we organise the very successful Yateley 10K summer road-races (three evening races on the first Wednesday of June, July & August). We're not all keenly competitive though, and many of us are happy to simply run, without the pressure of entering 'events'.

The TVXC cross-country league is very popular with our members – we can get as many as 50 at some of the events. Most are just there for the chance to run somewhere different, in company and in daylight. But competition at the sharp end, within the club and between clubs in the league, is very hot. We enjoy the refreshments (and beer) afterwards too.

Our 'home' race is at Lord Wandsworth College, south of Odiham, normally towards the end of November. It is a challenging two-lap course of about 6 miles. It has something of everything – challenging terrain (a smooth grassy sports-field, rough tracks and paths, wide grassy 'rides', hills, mud, puddles, cultivated fields); and lovely autumn scenery. And you get to do all that TWICE.
Parking at the College is restricted, and some of it a significant walk from the start/finish, so please PLEASE car-share wherever possible, and allow plenty of time. The college is at Long Sutton, south of Odiham, Hants. Use the postcode RG29 1TA, which will take you close, but not directly to the college. Look (or ask) for the Four Horseshoes pub, the entrance to the college is just east of there - a imposing brick gateway. Then follow the signs/marshals.

Sheen Shufflers

Sheen Shufflers is a small, but active running (and oft-times drinking) club, based in Sheen in south west London. The club has an enthusiastic 'slowies' group, as well as hardened, streetwise runners. With the club meeting at the Sheen Gate of Richmond Park on a Monday and Wednesday evening, it is only appropriate that we do all our training within this magnificent facility. In addition, Sheen Shufflers now have a Friday morning group who run between three and four miles either in Richmond Park or besides The River Thames.

The Shufflers' one major achievement was to win the TVXC League in 2000!

Tadley Runners

Tadley Runners is a small, friendly club of about 80 members dedicated to all aspects of running including trail, cross-country and road from 5K to Ultra distances. Some members also take part in Duathlons and Triathlons. Recent club trips have taken us to the Barcelona and Amsterdam marathons.

The club meets twice a week at 7.00pm on Mondays and Wednesdays at the Hurst Leisure Centre and also from local pubs fortnightly in the summer and monthly in winter. There are a normally a range of different distances and pace at these club runs including interval and hill sessions.

We are situated about 7 miles North of Basingstoke in an area that offers many options for off road running on Summer evenings. New members of all abilities are always welcome.

We host 4 races each year. Tim's Tadley 10K and the Tadley 10 mile race are our road events. Our ever popular and challenging cross country course is used for our Christmas XC and, of course, for our fixture of the TVXC league.

Thames Valley Triathletes

Thames Valley Triathletes (TVT) is based in Reading, Berkshire and has over 160 members. The club is very active and provides training in the 3 disciplines of triathlon, swim, bike & run. We also organise a number of social events and training camps for members. Whether you aim to be a serious athlete, get fit or meet new friends, we would like to meet you. Our chief coach Derek Bowley is one of the top triathlon coaches in the country. Under his direction the coaching team provide swim, bike and run sessions suitable for all standards - beginner to international.

Wargrave Runners

Wargrave and Twyford Runners - a social running club for all ages and abilities.. We formed in 1984 and our aim then and now is to inspire and foster peoples interests in running within the village and its surrounds. We regularly meet on Saturday and Sunday mornings at 8:15 at Wargrave Recreation ground and informally at times to suit individuals.

We have members participating at all ages and levels of ability ranging from experienced athletes to casual weekend joggers and families enjoy our club handicap events. This year we have had members competing over all distances; ironman and marathons down to 5ks and our own club measured miles....and are delighted to have now been accepted into this cross country series!

Windle Valley Runners

We are a friendly running club in Surrey Heath, with approximately 200 members, with running activities in Ascot, Bagshot, Camberley, Frimley, Lightwater, Windlesham and the surrounding area.

We offer intervals training sessions on Tuesday evenings, road run training on Thursday evenings, and a variety of Sunday morning running activities including a monthly timed 10K. On Saturdays, we run and volunteer at Frimley Lodge parkrun.

Our club aims to provide a friendly environment, in which runners of all abilities can enjoy their running. This is complemented by various social events all through the year.

All new members are very welcome. If you would like to join us, then turn up to any of our training runs or contact any of our members. Further details of our weekly training sessions can be found on our website.
